The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Oconee County Coroner’s Office are investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred over the weekend. Organizer Betty Jo Smith said that there was a brief moment for concern to the participants, but credited Westminster Police’s presence at the Depot parking lot that ensured the caravan started smoothly.

According to reports, Thrasher was operating a vehicle on Timothy Road in Athens, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle wrecked Wednesday night.
